Share Web Services help individuals and companies to build a web presence using custom websites and social media solutions. This is our website, and it should give you some general information, but if you have any questions about specifics, you can contact us here.
We specialise in working with small businesses in the creative visual arts, and holistic practices. That's because those are the areas we understand best. But we welcome the opportunity to help anyone who's aims we feel we can support by helping them to present what they do.
What We Do
The websites we create are designed to be easy to use and reflective of those they promote. We take into consideration all aspects of what our clients do, and how the website might be used. Important considerations are who might be looking at the site, what level of dynamic interaction is needed, and our client's ability to maintain and update it and budget. Having a website for the first time often requires a steep learning curve and we aim to support clients in that.
We also work with clients to integrate social media, which is often something they use already. Web hosting is something we can provide, either as a completely managed service or just to advise those who want their own package. We can also set up webmail systems.
Keeping everything as simple as it can be is a key objective for us; we always avoid over-specifying technology for a project. We build static websites with HTML and CSS. Where lots of dynamic content is needed we usually use Wordpress. For static sites we can install a simple CMS system to allow clients to maintain content. We have clients in the UK, Ireland and United States.
Who We Are
We are Andrew Dodds and Lynsey Ewan, and are based in Fife in the UK. Both from visual arts backgrounds, we are passionate about making websites that are beautiful, but are primarily made to just work. We have spent a decade working with websites, first as something to promote our own projects and gradually as a service to others.
We collaborate on overall design and layouts, and Andrew then takes these ideas and translates them into a website using the appropriate technology. We also offer logo design and general identity design services for businesses.
It sounds easy. We aim to make it easy for clients by doing the difficult part for them. We tend to work with clients over longer periods to develop a full understanding of what they do, and feeding back progress as we go.
